First meeting of Young Entrepreneurs AFA-Andalucía

10 de December de 2025

Triturados Puerto Blanco hosted the first working day of the new group of young executives and successors of aggregate, industrial rock and mining companies linked to AFA-Andalucía (Association of Aggregate and Related Manufacturers of Andalusia) at its facilities. The initiative, described as pioneering, brought together representatives from the first, second and third generations of family businesses with the aim of ensuring generational succession, creating links between the future leaders of the sector and visiting each company’s operations directly to learn about their specific characteristics.

Carlos Ramírez Sánchez-Maroto, director general of AFA, explained that the main purpose of these meetings is for young people to ‘share and learn about synergies, markets, identity and the peculiarities of each operation,’ as well as to learn about the real challenges facing the sector on the ground. He stressed that the future will be marked by the compatibility between access to resources, environmental and urban planning restrictions, product quality and sustainability based on the circular economy.

During the day, participants visited the Blanquilla-San Roque mine and the company’s new photovoltaic plant, an example of Triturados Puerto Blanco’s long-standing commitment to energy efficiency and innovation. Manuel Rodríguez Garrido highlighted his pride in the incorporation of the third generation and recalled that the company was a pioneer in Spain in environmental and quality certifications, as well as in the implementation of efficient technologies such as cogeneration and now photovoltaic energy.

The company’s young successors stated that their main objective is to make the plant ‘one of the most sustainable in the world’, moving towards zero carbon emissions and incorporating the best techniques available on the market. The new photovoltaic plant will be key to reducing the carbon footprint, generating energy and benefiting the environment.

Overall, the visit promoted by AFA seeks to create a strong community among the future leaders of the sector, encourage the exchange of real experiences and learn about the operations on site in order to learn from their good practices and challenges, ensuring the continuity and modernisation of the Andalusian aggregates sector.
