On 3 November, Triturados Puerto Blanco, S.L. received a visit from the representative of the Andalusian Regional Government in Granada, Antonio Granados, accompanied by the regional representative for Economy, Finance and European Funds, Industry, Energy and Mines, Gumersindo Fernández Casas, and the head of the Energy Department, Fernando Machado. The meeting was also attended by the mayors of Huétor Santillán, José Carlos Ortega, and Beas de Granada, Manuel Luis López.
During the visit, the Government Delegate highlighted the company’s track record and commitment to sustainability, noting that since its foundation in 1958, Triturados Puerto Blanco “has successfully combined tradition and modernisation, becoming a benchmark in the extraction and processing of high-purity dolomite”. Granados also stressed that the Regional Government of Andalusia “recognises the company’s track record as a driver of development and employment in the province”.
For his part, the regional delegate, Gumersindo Fernández, highlighted “the company’s commitment to quality, sustainability and innovation, which has enabled its products to be present in sectors as diverse as glass, ceramics, metallurgy, agriculture, cosmetics and construction”. Fernández also pointed out that Triturados Puerto Blanco “is a magnificent example of how a family business has managed to maintain its legacy and continue to grow over several generations”.
The mayor of Beas de Granada, Manuel Luis López, expressed his satisfaction that “the most emblematic company in the area continues to invest in the region and generate employment”. Regarding the new photovoltaic plant, he highlighted that “it represents a double commitment: to reducing CO₂ emissions and to energy savings that will have a positive impact on residents”.
During the visit, institutional representatives were able to learn in detail about the self-consumption photovoltaic solar plant with surplus discharge, currently in the final phase of construction. The project, with a total investment of €1,100,000, has received a €265,000 incentive from the Andalusian Energy Agency as part of its line of aid for self-consumption and storage with renewable sources. The facility, with a total power of 1.572 MW, consisting of 2,688 photovoltaic modules and six 300 kW inverters, is in addition to the existing 800 kW cogeneration plant at the Blanquilla mining operation.
This investment reinforces Triturados Puerto Blanco’s commitment to its motto, “Integrated Quality Mining: A sustainable present for a responsible future,” consolidating its energy management model based on efficiency, innovation, and respect for the environment.
